About Amanda

Amanda Shechtman is an actor, generally funny person and petite chanteuse. She was born, bred and is currently living in the New York area. She graduated with a BFA in theater from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2012. While at NYU, Amanda studied at Playwrights Horizons Theater School, the Experimental Theater Wing and Stonestreet Studios for Film and Television. She performed in several productions, including the NYU Reality Show at Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theater under the direction of Elizabeth Swados. Amanda was also a proud member of the NYU N'Harmonics, NYU's premier a capella group. Always having an interest in both performing and creating material with her peers, Amanda helped her fellow performer-friends create the musical sketch comedy group Pop Roulette, which performs regularly at the People's Improv Theater. Amanda's voice is featured in several radio ads, videos and Elizabeth Swados' HBO animated short My Depression. Amanda is also a songwriter who plays ukulele, guitar and piano. She is represented commercially by Abrams Artists Agency.
