With the growth of shows like The Moth, This American Life, and Sleepwalk With Me, true storytelling is more popular than ever. In this class, Michelle Walson, the producer of RISK! (www.risk-show.com), will teach you how to wow a crowd simply by being yourself on stage. You’ll learn to select compelling story topics, recreate dramatic events, use structure to build suspense, and tap into the larger thematic meaning in your memories. The class will operate workshop style, with the majority of class time devoted to students sharing stories and critiquing each other’s work. Each student will develop at least two stories and perform one of these stories in a class show at The PIT for family and friends.
