The PIT

In the class we:
Learn how to use or break formulas for jokes and scene structure
Brainstorm, write, re-write, pitch and rehearse collaboratively
Learn about sketch acting
Function as a sketch comedy group
Write, produce and perform a complete sketch show at the PIT
Students include working comedians and absolute beginners. We learn about adding dimension to the comic premise, developing beats of action, fleshing out comic characters and playing with end twists. In sessions, we maintain a supportive dynamic between students who collaborate to make one another’s material fresher and funnier, beat by beat. If the class chooses to create video sketches to include in the class show, that is encouraged.
