Yes, now men and women alike can learn and practice how to make a great writing packet for The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with David Letterman, etc. Tamara became a staff writer for “Important Things with Demetri Martin” simply by having a great packet. How does she know? Because they told her so. If you’ve been thinking of submitting to any of these NY late night shows, you need to join us! This class lays out the submission requirements and provides practice for how to make a great packet. It’s a great low-pressure environment to workshop your writing and get feedback from peers. One thing to note is this is not an NBC tour – we spent most of our time working on effective packet-writing. Additionally, the material you write in class paired with a spec script can also be a great way to find an agent. Past classes have featured one guest speaker, typically a writer or producer of the shows we study. This isn’t guaranteed, but we’re appreciative when people stop by to share what they know.
