Robert Gilbert

Robert is an actor, comedian and writer currently living in New York City. Born and raised in London, Robert moved to New York after graduating with a BA in Drama and Screen Studies from The University of Manchester. Before swimming over Robert performed twice at The Edinburgh Festival with theatre company, Young Pleasance. During his time in New York he has appeared in The Rapscallion Theatre Collectives productions of Trestle At Pope Lick Creek and A Shot And A Beer as well as other productions of Midsummer Nights Dream and Love’s Labour’s Lost. Robert was introduced to improv by Jen Nails, who steered him towards The People’s Improv Theatre. He has since studied there with Joe Schiappa, Scott Eckert, Pat Shay, Oscar Montoya and Ali Farahnakian. Robert performs with indie team, Day Camp Kids, who host The PIT’s bi-monthly indie knock out competition, Tug Of War. Robert created and hosts The PIT’s weekly podcast, The PITcast, along with his partner in crime Iliana Inocencio. He did not attend Hogwarts.
