      Hi. We’re Astronaut Theatre. Once upon a time we lived in the lap of Boston luxury as college students, but that was a long time ago and we need to get over it and move on. No really, guys, get OVER IT. We’re adults now and we do sketch comedy as funny as we can, using all of our brain parts. Such as: Brain Part 1 (We are not licensed Astronauts… yet), Brain Part 2 (Songs make sex education more fun), or Brain Part 3 (Even muggers have dreams). And that’s just 3 of them! This very special East Coast edition of Astronaut Theatre features: KK Apple, Tom Ganjamie, Jim Gordon, and some of our favorite friends.

    May 20-22nd (3-Night Workshop)

    The JAM is a new approach to improvised performance in which Gary employes techniques to develop, flesh-out and expand relationships between characters. Even for the finest actors, there are moments where split second choices make all the difference in performance. This workshop frees the actor to make the right choices -- by committing to the unknown, getting out of her head, and being in the present moment.

    Details, Specifics and Information are always needed for a good improv scene. This workshop teaches you HOW to create those scenic needs while creating enjoyable humor and sound theater as a side effect of generating the best details possible.

  • Musicality and Scenework

    June 1st-2nd, (Two-Day Workshop)

    Using music to inspire scene work both internally and externally. Developing a musicality to your scenes as well as making up music / songs inside of your format. We will look at the concept of tempo and develop and understanding of how music can lead to unspoken agreement for greater joy and ease of play. We will be beatboxing, freestyling, listening, sharing, making noises you never thought you'd make and moving a lot.
