  National Scandal is a PIT house sketch team featuring some of the theater's best and brightest actors, writers and directors, who collaborate to bring you their own sweet brand of sketch comedy. National Scandal is actors Pat Byrne, Casey Cancellieri, Gina Fitch, Stephen McCarthy, Sarah Nowak, Kate Reilly; writers Jennifer Bloodsworth, Gabe Capone, Jonathan Desley, Joanna Hausmann, Melissa Surach, Pete Zuorick; head writer/director Chris Aurilio | Web site AND The Foolhardy Manor has been performing at The PIT and various other variety shows and events since 2008.  Each member contributes to the writing and performance of their high-energy brand of innovative sketch--sometimes smart, sometimes silly but usually physical with fun props and costumes. In 2009 and 2010, they advanced to the semi-final and final rounds, respectively, of The PIT's Sketchprov tournaments. The group has appeared in other shows by fellow sketch and improv artistes, including Upset Triangle, The Saddest Sketch Show and Student Driver. In previous years, they've also performed themed shows around Christmas and Halloween. The Foolhardy Manor is happy to be performing at the festival, where they'll be taking the audience to strange and exotic worlds, while performing classic sketches from their repertoire. Patterns in Everything

June 21st (One-Day Workshop)

Being in your head has a terrible reputation in improv circles. This workshop is all about being in your head at the top of the scene (a good thing) and then using the information to truly play out of your head for the remainder. One exercise, one technique. Adding pattern recognition to your bag of improv tricks will help you find the comedy faster no matter the form.

Anatomy of a 1-Liner: Writing Monologue & Roast Jokes

June 25th (One-Night Workshop)

The "Anatomy of a 1-Liner: Writing Monologue and Roast Jokes" interactive seminar teaches students the various categories and structures of jokes used in monologues and roasts. Using this organized approach, students will participate in exercises that enable them to improve their current jokes and to write new ones from the latest daily newspaper.

In this character building class, you will learn how to cultivate fully developed and realistic characters through a blend of classic mask techniques & improvisational games. This class will not only make you a character connoisseur, but help you contextualize them for the stage, screen and even auditions.
