  Drawing on the late-night tradition from Carson to Cavett to Conan, host Scott Rogowsky and his sidekick/dad Marty welcome an eclectic mix of comedians, bands, and local celebs to the Peoples Improv Theatre for a unique live talk show experience that needs to be experienced to be experienced. There will be plenty of bits, skits, chits and chats, and maybe even that pretty girl you saw on the 6 train last night. It’s a big city, but you run into people. FEATURING: Joe Randazzo (Editor-in-Chief of The Onion) Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer-Camp (creators of Marcel the Shell With Shoes On) Leo Allen (Jon Benjamin Has A Van) plus music from THE MUSICAL GUESTS! Being in your head has a terrible reputation in improv circles. This workshop is all about being in your head at the top of the scene (a good thing) and then using the information to truly play out of your head for the remainder. One exercise, one technique. Adding pattern recognition to your bag of improv tricks will help you find the comedy faster no matter the form.

June 25th (One-Night Workshop)

The "Anatomy of a 1-Liner: Writing Monologue and Roast Jokes" interactive seminar teaches students the various categories and structures of jokes used in monologues and roasts. Using this organized approach, students will participate in exercises that enable them to improve their current jokes and to write new ones from the latest daily newspaper.

In this character building class, you will learn how to cultivate fully developed and realistic characters through a blend of classic mask techniques & improvisational games. This class will not only make you a character connoisseur, but help you contextualize them for the stage, screen and even auditions.
