Scott Eckert

About Scott

Scott Eckert is among the PIT’s longest tenured performers/teachers and a founding member of one of New York’s most decorated improv groups, Big Black Car (ECNY Best Improv Group; Time Out critics pick; official selection for the Chicago, New York, Boston and D.C. improv festivals). Scott also co-created seven two-person sketch shows with Ellie Kemper (The Office, Bridesmaids), and has appeared in numerous tv and radio commercials, plays, and digital shorts. In addition to performing, Scott writes funny things for the internet (McSweeney’s, The Bygone Bureau), and his independent sitcom pilot won the Best Writing Award at the New York Television Festival 2012. Scott graduated from Princeton University where he directed the improv group Quipfire! and wrote his senior thesis on (believe it or not) the theory and history of improvisational comedy.
