Tessa Skara is a Canadian-born, Brooklyn-based performer whose work spans the gamut of sketch comedy, stand-up, cabaret performance, theatre, and performance art but is always focused on one thing: COMEDI!! Tessa is a member of the musical sketch comedy team, Pop Roulette, (the PIT, UCB, NYC Sketchfest, Chicago Sketch Festival, Dirty South Improv) and the theater collective Carroll Simmons whose collaborative millennial play, Too Many Lena’s has been featured at Ars Nova (Ant Fest), The New Ohio (Ice Factory) and Dixon’s Place. Her solo work has been featured at the Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival (TRL>>>Total Rejects Live), Dixons Place (Cannibl Sup3rSt4r + Goodnight Sister, Goodnight Brother), the Brooklyn International Performance Art Festival, and at many Williamsburg drag shows (BathSalts & TRL among others). Tessa has also performed her writing onstage at the Skirball Center, Yankees Stadium, and the Beacon Theater with the NYU Reality Show (dir. Liz Swados). Tessa received her BFA in Drama from NYU (CAP21 & ETW), and has studied Improv & Sketch Comedy Writing at UCB.
