Vickie Plummer

Vickie Plummer comes to The PIT after being the Director of Broadway Classroom for the last 16 years where she created 18 different types of educational workshops for groups from around the world to participate in while visiting NYC and working directly with Broadway professionals. She’s excited to be working with The PIT and embracing creativity along with not only teaching but learning as much as she can. Vickie declared at the age of ten that she was going to be a stand-up comedian. In her small NH community she did plays, summer theatre, and talent shows until graduating from UNH with a degree in Musical Theatre. She’s toured to 48 of the 50 states with a number of theatre companies. While on tour, she taught hundreds of classes in Improv, Creative Drama, Musical Theatre, and Basic Acting.

She relocated to NYC after touring where studied Improv with Gotham City Improv and Second City in NYC. She taught classes with Camp Broadway to student groups from elementary to High School level. Her childhood dream of becoming a stand-up comedian became a reality in the early 2000’s as she performed in clubs, restaurants, and bars in NYC. After taking a 12-year hiatus she returned to her passion of stand-up. In 2019 she was a Semi-Finalist in The Empire State Stand Up Showdown, performed at the Baltimore Comedy Festival, Road to Billtown Comedy Festival Competition in PA, New South Comedy Festival in Greenville, SC and made it to the second round of the National Jeanne Robertson Humor Competition.  She will be in the North Carolina Comedy Festival in March 2020.  She’s thrilled to have been able to open for some incredible NYC comedians during her career including Jim Gaffigan, Judy Gold, Jim Mendrinos, and Tom Papa. She hopes to one day meet her idol, Carol Burnett, and give her a hug to thank her for inspiring her throughout her life.

Vickie is a fighter and has battled her way back from cancer and other life- threatening medical issues and uses humor to poke fun at the weird and crazy things that have shaped her life. She’s always ready to have a good time and to make audiences laugh and say “I can relate! I do the same thing!”
