About the class

Have you ever watched a sketch comedy show and said to yourself “I could do that, if only I knew where to start”? Do you have a mess of brilliant sketches and no idea how to get them on their feet? Is the thought of putting together a sketch comedy show as confusing as AP Bio-Trigonometry?

Sketch Production is a 8 week course that will take you through the basics of putting together your own show from initial pitch to final bow.  Over those weeks, the following will be covered:

  • Initial pitch and group revision
  • Sketch directing for stage
  • Basic workshopping
  • Performance
  • How to visualize and write a tech script
  • Pacing and transitions
  • Promotion and marketing strategies

By the end of the 8 weeks your class will finish up with two full shows for your friends, family and fans!

So take a chance on yourself and erase the line between “I want to” and “I can” with Sketch Production.

This class will feature weekly assignments and some out of class prep work, roughly 1-2 hours a week.
