About the class

The Basics of Sketch Comedy Writing class for all female identifying writers will introduce students to the core tenets of sketch comedy writing.  The class will focus on basic sketch forms and concepts, including juxtapostion, heightening, linguistics, absurdism, parody, developing personal voice and revision. The class will end with a class show in one of The PIT’s theaters and will leave students with all the skills they will need to begin their sketch comedy careers with a strong foundation.

**Students are expected to bring an original sketch to the first day of class.
