About the class

The Basics of Sketch Comedy Writing class will introduce students to the core tenets of sketch comedy writing.  The class will focus on basic sketch forms and concepts, including juxtapostion, heightening, linguistics, absurdism, parody, developing personal voice and revision. The class will end with a class show in one of The PIT’s theaters and will leave students with all the skills they will need to begin their sketch comedy careers with a strong foundation.

Micah Sherman

Micah has been doing improv since 1996 and has performed with Chicago’s famed Second City, Improv Asylum in Boston and on PIT house team Stranger.

He’s also been in several movies including My Best Friend’s Girl and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
