This 150 minute workshop exercise will use emotion, music, and movement to force you to communicate without speaking. During a three-minute song you (a few of your fellow improvisers) will be asked to convey the provided who, where and what of a scene by using only emotion and object work. This workshop is intended to emphasize how important emotion and physicality are to scene work. Participants will find new ways to communicate the Who, Where and What of the scene without saying a word. This is a performance exercise that will preface scenes with direction and recommendations and conclude with positive feedback and W/W/W guesses from the audience.
Participants will be given suggestions and tips on how to improve the following techniques:
- Gift Giving
- Creating an Interesting Stage Picture
- Remembering Instead Inventing
- Making the Entire Body Do the Talking
