This level is about highlighting the importance of the ensemble. Long form improv is best when an ensemble truly works and flows together, otherwise known as “group mind.”

This is how we get there. This is how we build a real ensemble.

This class will become your ensemble for these 8 weeks. This course will be honing in on structure-starting out with tight Harold’s (including an opening). As a part of an ensemble, you will learn how to bring out the best in each other through effective communication.

Ultimately, the objective is that each ensemble will create and perform whatever form of their choosing that is fun for them and plays at the height of their intelligence.

Sarah Nowak is very grateful to be a member of the PIT House team, The Baldwins, performing every Saturday night on the mainstage. She studied improv at The Second City of Toronto Conservatory before moving to New York to join The PIT where she is proud to be a frequent performer and Level One Improv teacher. As a character actress, her favorite roles include A Witch in Macbeth for Shakespeare in Delaware Park, and recently Belise in Les Femmes Savants and Dawn in All in the Timing for The Williamsburg Theatre Company. She has worked on several improv and sketch projects around the city and has traveled around the country with her independent ensemble SidViscous.
