About the show
Join us as we embark on a basketball saga for the ages. This show tracks the rise and fall of two Jewish sports titans: Mitchell Abraham Friedman and Matthew Isaac Stofsky. Titans in their time, they beat the odds to become legends.
Mitchell Friedman remembers: “They said I would never make it. My middle school coach told me no one from Wilmette has ever made it to the NBA. But that kid John Scheyer who went to Duke, well, he got close.”
Matt Stofsky remembers: “A Jew from Seattle? Get out of my gym. You don’t know how many times I heard that. Until they saw what I was made of. We had it all by the end. Money, women, clothes. Power. We didn’t run the media, but we ran a hell of a fast break.”
Mitchell and Matthew will walk you through their meteoric rise and heart wrenchingly brutal fall. The highs, the lows, the broken promises, the unread torah portions.
Interacting with a host of NBA players past and present, as well as an assortment of other influential figures, Jews in the NBA: An Immersive Experience will leave you laughing, and also asking “huh?”
P.S. It’s a sketch comedy show.
