NYC Solocom 2021: Diederich | Quick | Stetson | Bennett

The Peoples Improv Theater proudly announces the return of NYC Solocom, livestreaming Thursday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 6th. NYC Solocom has launched over 400 new solo comedies that have gone on to longer runs, tours and festivals around the world (including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.)

NYC Solocom is a festival of new solo work. All shows presented are 75% – 100% new material, and are created specifically for the festival. NYC Solocom’s goal is to push artists to create a show that is meaningful, personal and to follow the fear.

Enjoy these daring, original solo performances from the comfort of your own home, via the PIT livestreams on Youtube Live.

6pm EST – Erica Diederich: “Scary Good”

I realized I have a collection of horror film themed characters and I would love to make a solo show with all of them as well as include some new ones I’m currently thinking up!! It would be maybe 5 characters total, no longer than 25 mins

6:30pm EST – Megan Quick: “”And Toto Too”

Told from the perspective of Terry, the dog who played Toto in the Wizard of Oz, this show is an homage to Judy Garland the icon, and Judy the woman. The show explores Terry’s personal life and career in Hollywood.

7:05pm EST – Mark Stetson: “Quarantinophenia”

Mark uses all of the technology at his disposal to make sense of the things he’s learned over the past year in hibernation.

7:40pm EST – Rachel Bennett: “Glimpses of a Life”

The Rolling Stones had it right.  “You don’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need.” In her solo performance, Rachel explores the relationship with her late mother and how as an only child, her mother’s early onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis at age 55, caused Rachel to learn the power of love and self efficacy.

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT: Tickets are only $4.99 until May 31st!
