NYC Solocom 2021: Gibb | Gambetta | Axler | Moriarty | Kereki

The Peoples Improv Theater proudly announces the return of NYC Solocom, livestreaming Thursday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 6th.

NYC Solocom has launched over 400 new solo comedies that have gone on to longer runs, tours and festivals around the world (including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.)

NYC Solocom is a festival of new solo work. All shows presented are 75% – 100% new material, and are created specifically for the festival. NYC Solocom’s goal is to push artists to create a show that is meaningful, personal and to follow the fear.

Enjoy these daring, original solo performances from the comfort of your own home, via the PIT livestreams on Youtube Live.

8:30pm EST – Elspeth Gibb: “Beth Smith: Formerly Dunder Mifflin Corporate Legal”

Beth Smith reminisces about her time at Dunder Mifflin. Watching The Office during COVID brought back memories that she wants to share with the world! She will also answer FAQs, like: “why weren’t you at Michael Scott’s deposition?”

9:00pm EST – Paula J. Leon: “Mother Taught Me and Latinidad”

Jokes and stories about the trials and tribulations of hair removal and being a Latina in the US.

9:15pm EST – Stacey Axler: “What’s Up Doc?”

A wry look into one person’s journey to getting “healthy” – as healthy as one can be during a global pandemic- and communicating, both successfully and not, with doctors about mental health needs.

9:30pm EST – Theresa Moriarty: “THE MOST ITALIAN PEOPLE  *  *who have have never been to Italy”

Through story-telling and stand-up, Theresa explores the dynamics of her wildly loving, boisterous, insanely anxious, over-the-top, proud Italian-American restaurateur family. The show explores tradition, identity, and what makes a family tick— hilariously served over linguine.

9:55pm EST – Ilona Kereki: “Stop Hitting Yourself”

Have you ever nit-picked yourself to the point of exhaustion? Ilona sure has! Three one-lady scenes explore the shit we tell ourselves so failure is more palatable. From relationships, jobs, and life itself – you’re bound to laugh, cry, and connect. Buckle up!

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT: Tickets are only $4.99 until May 31st!

Festival passes available. Passholders will gain access to all twelve NYC Solocom show blocks.
