NYC Solocom 2021: Hawkins | Wayburn | Blankenship | Bridges-Matthews

The Peoples Improv Theater proudly announces the return of NYC Solocom, livestreaming Thursday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 6th. NYC Solocom has launched over 400 new solo comedies that have gone on to longer runs, tours and festivals around the world (including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.)

NYC Solocom is a festival of new solo work. All shows presented are 75% – 100% new material, and are created specifically for the festival. NYC Solocom’s goal is to push artists to create a show that is meaningful, personal and to follow the fear.

Enjoy these daring, original solo performances from the comfort of your own home, via the PIT livestreams on Youtube Live.

8:30pm EST – Paul Hawkins: “Garbage Picker”

What’s in your neighbors’ trash? Is it something you want? Is it something you can use? Sometimes it’s something you didn’t know you wanted or could imagine a use for until you see it on the curb.

9:05pm EST – Jessie Wayburn: “On Being C.U.T.E.”

Do you struggle with being cute? Have you had lots of trauma that you hide within an adorable package? Do you like puns or chocolate? Then this show is for you! Bring a snack! Call your therapist! CW: Sexual violence, abortion.

9:40pm EST – Jack Blankenship: “Alabama Love”

After seeing a survey that ranked Alabama as the worst state in the country, Jack Blankenship defends his home state with stories, songs, and sketches from the South.

Festival passes available. Passholders will gain access to all twelve NYC Solocom show blocks.
