The Peoples Improv Theater is excited to announce that submissions are now open for season 2 of the Super Sketch Tuesday sketch comedy house teams.  Season 1 was so successful that we are adding 2 brand new teams!

We are looking for the best writer/performers in the NYC to join the most exciting sketch teams in the city, submissions close 2/22/18 and the submission link is below.  Get after it y’all, IT’S SUPER SKETCH TUESDAY!


Your Directors

Tamsi New

Tamsi is a writer, director, performer and musician based in New York.

She moved to New York from Texas with indie-rock band Grassfight ( for which she played bass guitar. She has studied improv, and sketch at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, The Peoples Improv Theater, and the Annoyance Theater.

She created T. Matilda Production Co, a collective of shows such as Super Free Monday’s Indie Hour, The Wes Anderson Players, and The Ladies of the PIT. Tamsi was the lead producer for parody musicals South By South Death (National Sawdust) and Locked Up Bitches (PIT). She was the Co-Creator and Head Writer for the first season of This Live Show, a popular late night/sketch hybrid, returning for its third season this fall.

Tamsi has directed live sketches and video content for This Live Show, Sean & Georgie, and Sktch Shw. She was a series regular on Gramercy Boulevard and Low Budget Sketch Show, a weekly improv performer on various house-teams at the PIT for five years, and a writer/performer for Old School Sketch Show. Her voice can be heard on Kevin McDonald’s comedy album, Making Faces.

Tamsi lives in Brooklyn and is coming around to coffee.


Richard Armstead

Richard Armstead is a performer from Somerset, NJ. He currently runs the Solid Footing program Sketch initiative designed for students at any level to perform Sketches at UCB’s Monthly Liquid Courage Show for which he is a co-host. Rich has been seen on the PIT Stage in “Room 4” and “Murder!” for Marina and Nicco as well as several variety shows. He has performed as an Actor on the Maude Team CHUNK!, and The Livia Scott Sketch Program at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Matt Gehring

Matt Gehring has a decade-long comedy career in New York City. In summer 2017, Matt was selected to perform solo character comedy at the world’s largest and most prestigious comedy festival, Just For Laughs, Montreal. At the PIT, UCB and Magnet, he has been involved with over 20 running shows. Matt was a 3-year house team member of UCBT’s sketch comedy night, Maude Night. He has directed six running shows while writing and starring in his own 30-minute comedy puppet show, “Simon’s Street”. You may have seen him performing on Netflix’s “The Characters” or Amazon’s “The Tick”.

Jane Kehoe

Jane is a writer, director & performer based in New York City.

She produces the popular PIT show, Old School Sketch Show and was on the House teams Corner Booth & Vicariously, Yours. She was a Production Assistant at The Colbert Report and for the award-winning comedy pilot Improvising. Jane has performed in NY Sketch Fest ’13, ’14, NY Improv Fest ’14, ’15, ’16 & Chicago Women’s Funny Fest ’15. Jane studied comedy at UCB, IO Chicago, The Annoyance Chicago, and The PIT.


J. W. Crump

J. W. Crump is a Southern-born writer and comedian who loves every Mountain Dew flavor. From 2014-2016 he produced Sktch Shw, a show written, rehearsed, and performed in a single day. Since 2013, he has hosted Gas Station Horror, one of the longest-running indie improv shows in New York. GSH has been sponsored by Sony Pictures and is the subject of an NYU documentary. His award-winning web series, “Kylie Jenner’s Beauty Tips,” garnered over one million views on Facebook. In 2015, he was a featured performer in the CMT Southern Comedy Showcase, and then in 2016, he participated in NBC’s Scene Showcase, showcasing his work for industry in both LA and NY. Last year, he debuted his sold out one-man show “JW TV” featuring his love for television theme songs and anime transformation sequences. He loves you, but isn’t IN love with you.

Monique Moses

Monique Moses is a Canadian born, Caribbean bred actor-comedian based in Brooklyn. She’s been featured on Above Average, Bustle, Refinery 29‘s Riot and Funny or Die, and has created content for Comedy Central and IFC Comedy Cribs. Fun fact- in the summer of 2016, she won Best Actress at the Midtown International Theatre Festival for portraying Wu-Tang Clan’s the RZA in an off-Broadway musical Martin Shkreli’s Game: How Bill Murray Joined The Wu-Tang Clan. Jeff Mondoro

Jeffrey is a NYC based writer, comedian, improviser and actor originally from the great state of New Jersey.

He is one half of sketch duo New Team Honeybear (, whose work has been featured on FunnyOrDie, Thrillist, and most recently through a Partnership with the Broadway League. He teaches improvisation at The PIT and has performed on PIT House teams Madame Vice and Regina for over 2 years. He has studied improvisation and sketch comedy at every major comedy theater in NYC under instructors like Bradford Jordan, Kevin Cragg, Stephanie Bencin, Ali Farahnakian, Lucas Hazlett, Nate Starkey, Chelsea Clarke and Michael Delaney.

Sean Christian Taylor

Sean is a Director, writer and Actor based in New York

He first started producing original work under the direction of Gloria Baxter at the University of Memphis, and narrative theater group, Voices of the South.
For years the Peoples Improv Theater has been home – as a founding member of (Vivian Delano, B-Sides, Food Fight and Blonde Roast). But it’s Old School Sketch Show that keeps him busy.
Sean also works developing and promoting new material for, TimmyTv (Chicago, IL @timmyhartbarron), PitTv, and BoomShot Productions (New York, Ny).
Most recent collaborations include SpilleryDuff and Jen Clark’s Mein Kunt Kult.
