PREREQUISITE: YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED LEVEL 1 ACTING OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE TO QUALIFY FOR THIS CLASS. In the comment section of Checkout, please list when you took said classes and who your instructors were. You will not be able to take this class without doing so.

If you fail to meet the prerequisites for this course and continue to register anyway, we will have to transfer you out and add the balance as class credit, to be used for other classes.

Over the 6 weeks, you will be using improv exercises and tools that are intended to strengthen yourself as an actor.

You will learn to:

• Remaining present and playing to what is right in front of you.
• Create truthful, honest, and dynamic characters.
• Identifying and acting to the character’s intentions.
• Listen to and trust your instincts.
• Improvise through an actor’s lens.

The first three weeks of the session will provide you with various tools and methods to utilize and access within scenes as both an actor and improviser. The last three weeks of the session will be putting all of that to use through a deep exploration of scene work.
