NYC SKETCHFEST’24 – THE BLACK CARD EXPERIENCE/GHOST GIRL

The 10TH ANNUAL NYC SKETCHFEST’24 is New York City’s premier sketch comedy festival, and one of the nation’s largest, runs Thursday, October 17th – Sunday, October 20th.

THE BLACK CARD EXPERIENCE

Originating in the city of fountains, Kansas City, Missouri, The Black Card Experience is an all female ensemble of talented and enthusiastic comedy sketch performers. This ensemble creates an array of parodies aimed at pushing the narrative related to stereotypes about the black culture and the African American experience. The “black card” is an exclusive credit card, but in black culture it’s an imaginary card that all black people are born with that are constantly under the threat of being revoked if a black person does not act black enough. In reality, they are both luxury cards, and not everyone can have it.

GHOST GIRL

Ghost Girl is a sketch team local to the vibrant comedy scene of NYC. We have been a house team at the Magnet Theater since 2022.
Our diverse team of actors and writers are all about tackling the heightened, the surreal, and the twisted. Our sketches operate on the logic of your favorite Saturday morning cartoon as we tackle such subjects as therapy, technology, and yes – even magic cats.

As a team we have had the pleasure of performing at SF Sketchfest, Austin Sketchfest, Montreal Sketchfest, Philly Sketchfest and beyond.
Outside of Ghost Girl, you may have seen our writers and performers doing shows all around the city, and our veteran team has been featured on network television, GOLD Comedy and even Sports Illustrated.

NYC SKETCHFEST’24 aims to showcase both local and national sketch teams, spanning from established favorites to emerging groups, fostering a collective reunion of sketch brilliance. Programming will include DIGITAL SKETCH HOURS, the 24 HOUR SKETCH SHOW and more!
