Whether using scripts or improvisation, through powerful connected scene work we can capture the audience and make them eager voyeurs into our rich made up world on stage. Flex and build your acting skills in this class designed for performers looking to focus on truthful storytelling and grounded, connected scene work.
Including both dramatic and comedic material, this course will use monologues, improv exercises as well as scripted work to strengthen you as an actor and allow you to more easily find your way into the character.
Embrace vulnerability – Create truthful and dynamic characters with strong relationships willing to connect on deep emotional levels.
Stay in the moment – Learn to remain present, listen fully and react to what is right in front of you. Cut out that internal editor and trust your instincts to respond organically.
Know your intention – Whether scripted or improvised, get clear on your objectives and go after them fully, using all the tactics and tools available to us as actors and as people.
Bring in a more naturalistic style of play and improvise through an actor’s lens.
