Kickstart the weekend by collaborating with a group of improvisers to build a world from the ground up! Each set in this jam will explore one setting through a series of two-person and group scenes. In a format that encourages deep listening, we will incubate an array of grounded characters and nuanced relationships. Join your hosts, Noah, Katie, and Jeff, for this exercise in optimism and wonder, which will inevitably result in a brand new world where we all can begin anew, if only for a few fleeting moments.

Hosted by: Noah Fitzer, Katie Parkinson & Jeff Parkinson

Noah Fitzer took their first improv class at the PIT in January 2023, a few months after graduating college and moving to New York from the South. Through improv, Noah has felt encouraged to embrace their unique comedic voice, and by extension to appreciate parts of themself that once felt harder to love. Noah is a member of The Artist Formerly Known As: CRUD!, one of the PIT Ensembles teams, which performs bi-monthly at the Loft. Beyond improv, Noah is a singer-songwriter and Broadway enthusiast. In May 2023, their original one-act musical, “Four’s A Party,” premiered at the New York Theater Festival, also marking their NYC directorial debut.
Katie Parkinson discovered her love of improv when she followed her twin brother Jeff into after-school improv classes in 7th grade. She’s continued to study short and long form improv ever since. In high school, she began performing around the Seattle area. She was even prom-posed to during an improv show her senior year. Katie received her BFA in acting from SUNY Purchase in May, 2023, where she studied clowning, physical comedy, improv, mask, and regular plain acting. Since moving to the city, she and her brother have performed several times as a duo and she’s been a regular at the PIT jams. She’s also an avid hiker, a tea enthusiast, and a cozy video game fanatic.

Jeff Parkinson is an actor, improvisor, writer, and probably some other things as well. He caught the improv bug during an after school class in the seventh grade along with his twin sister Katie, and he hasn’t looked back since. He was the president of the improv club at his high school and at his college, the University of Evansville, where he recieved a BFA in Theatre Performance in 2023. He is currently an MFA Acting student at Columbia University. He found the PIT shortly after moving to New York and has been a regular jam attendant along with his sister, who he also performs with as a duo.
