The Peoples Improv Theater proudly announces the 10TH ANNUAL SOLOCOM!
SOLOCOMNYC has launched over 400 new solo comedies that have gone on to longer runs, tours and festivals around the world (including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.)
SOLOCOMNYC is a festival of new solo work. All shows presented are 75% – 100% new material, and are created specifically for the festival. SOLOCOM’s goal is to push artists to create a show that is meaningful, personal and to follow the fear.
An amateur dance crew happen to be at the right place at the right time. The rest is history. With original music.

This is a show of emotional shapeshifting and nuanced character work. Picture it like those digital dress up games designed for young girls – different costumes and environments will be ‘swept’ onto this base character, exploring her experience through the lens of the simultaneous joy and the pressure of performance and constant happiness. The audience will see 5-7 characters, hear songs, see correlating video, have cheeks sore from smiling and leave thinking about their own authenticity.
Calling all gays who love at least one straight. Bring your token straight friend and let them be the center of attention for the night.
