Mike Degen Stand Up – MIKE DEGEN
Hi, I take improv classes at the PIT and have also been working on a standup show! My jokes center on my experiences living in Alaska and my transition to New York. I have performed at roughly 50 open mics to date and had my first show last week.
Better late than not funny – HANS FRICKE
This mostly autobiographic set will be a milestone to my first solo stand-up hour. I will explore my coming out in my thirties, mental health, maybe cults, and foreskins. I will work through my first real heart break as a middle aged man. Who knew that break ups f***g suck? Someone should have written a song about it. I will also talk about dating (I know I am sorry) and how that is related to tutoring high school students in calculus. I will explain why it’s hard to spot gay penguins and why Disney had it all wrong in the Lion King. (subject to change)
SOLOCOM NYC has launched over 400 new solo comedies that have gone on to longer runs, tours and festivals around the world (including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.)
SOLOCOM NYC is a festival of new solo work. All shows presented are 75% 100% new material, and are created specifically for the festival. SOLOCOMs goal is to push artists to create a show that is meaningful, personal and to follow the fear.
