To the Altar of Ego – AMANDA DELALLA
As a girl on the AS who never lived outside of Staten Island- I quickly learned that a theater was the place where I could tryout other lives…without consequence! But, over time, I also wondered whether I was truly living vicariously…or just unleashing the hidden aspects of myself. For one night only, I’ll reveal the other Amandas in a Persona 5 Royal-flavored set.
A Light History of Light – GAYAN SENEVIRATNA
Ask people to imagine the moment that our species became humanity, and there’s a good chance they picture some ape-looking schmuck, hunched over the first fire. Human-controlled light was key to our origin story. In this show, I’m making an even broader claim: the history of light IS the history of humanity. Every major leap in culture, every era, is defined by its lighting: fire, lamp, bulb, and cable. A Light History of Light celebrates science and history with one-liners, PowerPoint slides, and dunks on Tesla Motors.
Angry Letters I Wrote To Boys – KRISTIN SCHULTES
Comedic reflections on the highs and lows of mile marker romantic relationships throughout the quirky-girl single life. A recovering people-pleaser “nice-girl” shows that even when she finishes last, she ensures she has the last word.
THE RELIQUARY – JOHN LADD
In one form or another, all of us whether we did it ourselves or knew of someone who did, have had- and maybe still do- a “reliquary.” That secret place where we keep “things” that have endured through our lives. It could be an artifact- a silver ring- or a “note to ourselves” reminding us of a funny time, like when as a high school basketball player, we went to an away game, we were assigned a phys. ed. locker room, I opened my travel bag and found that I didn’t bring my sneakers. Thankfully, I only had to break into a couple of the lockers to find my size, which I wore for the game, then returned them to their “rightful” place.
