Ricky’s Emergence from Social Isolation – ERIC WANG

What happens when a pandemic forces a young adult to confront his loneliness? Ricky’s Emergence from Social Isolation is a poignant and comedic one-man show that chronicles Ricky’s clumsy yet heartfelt journey to reinvent himself during the Covid-19 lockdown. From dabbling in religion, to binge watching self-help gurus, and awkwardly imitating the socially adept, Ricky’s quest to break free from his shell is relatable and heartfelt. The show explores the roots of loneliness and the often unconventional ways we cope in modern life. 

SOLOCOM NYC has launched over 400 new solo comedies that have gone on to longer runs, tours and festivals around the world (including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.) SOLOCOM NYC is a festival of new solo work. All shows presented are 75%- 100% new material, and are created specifically for the festival. SOLOCOMs goal is to push artists to create a show that is meaningful, personal and to follow the fear.
