Gabe Caruso
Gabriel Caruso has been writing raps and performing comedy since 2005. He is a graduate of Second City’s Conservatory (2012) and Musical Conservatory (2013). He has taught and performed as an ensemble member at both Theatre Momentum, and Under The Gun Theatre in Chicago. He first married his love of hip hop and comedy in 2015, in his one man show The Greatest Rappers Alive, and in 2016 became a rap battle champion, beating the other 31 performers at “The Smokeout 2” in Chicago, IL. His self-produced hip-hopera, Dundee, received the Chicago Reader’s “Best New Play” for 2017, and won him the accolade of “Best Playwright” as well. He currently attends NYU and is scheduled to receive his masters in Musical Theatre Writing in June of 2020.
