The PIT and “Saturday Night Live” have partnered to offer the SNL Scholarship, to engage comedy students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds and initiate significant steps toward progressive recruitment of diverse candidates. This initiative provides access to direct instruction and mentorship for recipients to learn more about the field and empower them to pursue a career in comedy.

Applicants will be selected at The PIT NYC and at The PIT Chapel Hill*.

Applications are now open and close at 12:00AM EST on 11/21/20.

Applicants who are invited to final Zoom interviews will be notified in late November. Final decisions will be reached by the panel in early-December.

  • A monthly check-in meeting with The PIT to answer questions and provide career development support.
  • Assistance and mentorship in putting together either 3 characters and 3 impersonations for a SNL-type audition or compiling a writer’s packet for a SNL-type submission.
