The Peoples Improv Theater is proud to announce the return of NYC Sketchfest 2023!
Columbia Law Revue
We are a sketch and musical comedy group from Columbia Law School. Our style is self-aware and self-deprecating, and accessible to people who aren’t lawyers.
Pressed
We’re Brooklyn-based comedians who began writing together in 2016. While we spent a few years performing in separate cities — Carmen doing UCB and Gold in New York, Jake improvising and doing sketch at the iO Theater in Chicago — we’ve reunited as a writing duo and are excited to get PRESSED on its feet.
PRESSED is a two-person sketch show about “controlling” “the” “narrative.” Things got out of hand there for a second. We all know it. Now, you’ve got to answer for what you’ve done in the cold, harsh light of day.
PRESSED is a show that follows rogue actors who make sense to themselves, and only themselves. You’ll meet a talk show host in shock, a fallen starlet who can’t tapdance, and a volunteer sea marshal with a bone to pick. At the end of the day, it’s not about who was right – it’s about who grabbed the mic first.
Sketchfest is back! This is the 9th annual festival and first time back since 2019 (you know because of that pandemic thing). NYC Sketchfest is New York City’s premier sketch comedy festival and one of the nations largest. This years festival is focused on highlighting local, national, old, and new sketch teams and bring them all together again! This 4-day sketch-tacular programming that will not only include incredible sketch shows, but panel discussions, writer’s rooms, and more!
