Laura Merli// Dumb Confident
Laura Merli seamlessly blends real life experiences, unwanted thoughts, and absurd “what ifs” into darkly funny stand up comedy, presented in her signature enthusiastic dead-pan. She’s like if a sloth took the wrong edible…and could talk.
Sydney Duncan// Avatar Wig Store
Character Actor Sydney Duncan will improvise new characters on the spot with just a one word suggestion and a whole lot of wigs!
Patrick McCartney// Brunch Liberal
Patrick McCartney plays people that are saying the right things but doing the wrong things in this satirical take on the modern liberal.
(Directed by Dominique Salerno)
Ricky Sim// Coming Out to Dead People
“Coming Out to Dead People ” is a coming-of-age solo show written and performed by Chinese-Malaysian stand up comedian Ricky Sim. Taken from the events during the time his conservative mom was battling with terminal cancer, while he was trying to decide whether to come out of the closet to her. Combining stand-up and storytelling, the show explores the meaning of acceptance, grief, the Asian immigrant family dynamics, and why you shouldn’t think about your ancestors when having gay sex.
