Classes on this page are considered Leveled Classes & Electives (in-Person) PIT Classes. These classes are part of our core curriculum. In-Person PIT classes are meant to help foster comedic growth in a stable & safe environment.
*NOTE: For Levels 2 – 5, you MUST write in the “CHECKOUT COMMENTS” the dates you took the required prerequisites and who your instructor was. If you fail to meet the prerequisites for this course and continue to register anyway, we will have to transfer you out and add the balance as class credit, to be used for other classes.*
This level is about highlighting the importance of the ensemble. Long form improv is best when an ensemble truly works and flows together, otherwise known as “group mind.”
Flex and build your acting skills in this class designed for performers looking to focus on truthful storytelling and grounded, connected scene work.
Over the 6 weeks, you will be using improv exercises and tools that are intended to strengthen yourself as an actor.
Over six sessions you will learn singprov basics in both short form, structured games and scenes into song.
Taking place in a single time and location and without any external edits, the Monoscene offers opportunity for deep character work, strong relationships and wants, highly active scene work as events happen in real time and plenty of character entrances and exits to create tension & move the storyline forward.
In Level 2 Improv, you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner and reinforce saying “Yes, and…!” Until you have to say “no thank you”.
This class will dive into how you can create characters using improv exercises to help pitch, write, and perform solo performance character pieces.
This class is perfect writers of all experience with a desire to begin their late-night journey in a supportive, collaborative writers room under the guidance of a PIT Instructor!
In this class you will use scene work and group exercises to explore the joy of improvisation, be more confident, trusting and graceful on stage.
In Level 2 ,you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner.
In level 3 you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner. Making sure “the beginning of your sentence doesn’t get in the way of the middle of theirs.” You will reinforce saying “Yes, and...!” Until you have to say “no thank you.” Work on the first, second and third beats of two-person scenes as well as continuing to focus on editing by following your foot connected to your gut and heart to edit scenes at the height. Learn how to “heighten and tighten” a scene organically glued in reality to create “win-win” fun scenes to play to entertain yourself and others while “treating your partner like a genius”
Develop your two-prov muscle with this workshop aimed at creating deep, connected characters that can sustain a 15-45 min set.
In Sketch Writing Level 2: Building Your Packet, students will utilize the skills developed in "Sketch Writing Level 1" to write sketches in a series of classic formats.
More of a guide than a conventional class, this goal-oriented program will get you up there doing stand up for the first time.
In this clown class, leave all your wit and one-liners at home and dive into your innocence, tenderness, silliness and (most important!) stupid.
In level 2 you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner and reinforce saying “Yes, and…!” Until you have to say “no thank you”.
Building on the musical fundamentals learned in Level 1, Level 2 dives deeper into technique and structure to help you turn your scenes and songs into a musical! You’ll work on melody and style as well as structure and song-type.
In this class you will use scene work and group exercises to explore the joy of improvisation, be more confident, trusting and graceful on stage.
In level 3 you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting, reinforcing saying “Yes, and…!” until you have to say “No, thank you”!
In Level 2 ,you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner.
In Late Night TV-Style Writing Level 2, students will expand on their knowledge of late night format and continue to brainstorm, write, pitch, and edit monologue jokes, desk bits, field pieces, character sketches, and more.
You have studied improv, you have performed improv, and now over 6 weeks we are going to look under the hood to take it to the next level.
More of a guide than a conventional class, this goal-oriented program will get you up there doing stand up.

In this class, students will be tasked with more complex and demanding material (both dramatic and comedic) that will stretch their acting muscles in an exciting new way.
In Level 3 Sketch, you will learn how to write for yourself, perform character monologues, hone comedic timing, and so much more!
