Each summer, we’re excited to offer week-long intensives in acting, improv, sketch, and stand-up! Spend a day in a comedy crash course or brush up your skills. Study from all of The PIT’s Award-Winning Improv Curriculum, as well as our Acting, Sketch, Stand-Up, and Elective Programming!
Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm OR 11am-5:30pm with a break for lunch each day.

At The PIT, we have a core Improv curriculum consisting of Improv Levels 1-5. If you are interested in completing our core curriculum, you must complete all 5 levels in this order: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level 5.
*NOTE: For Levels 2 – 5, you MUST write in the “CHECKOUT COMMENTS” the dates you took the required prerequisites and who your instructor was. If you fail to meet the prerequisites for this course and continue to register anyway, we will have to transfer you out and add the balance as class credit, to be used for other classes.*
Improv classes that are not level based fall under our elective classes. Elective classes are available to students in any stage of their improv journey unless otherwise notated in the class description. Some Elective classes require a certain completion of our core curriculum.

In this level, you’ll explore further means of editing as you begin to grow your understanding of The Harold, deepening your knowledge and comfortability of the Game of the scene

In this class you will use scene work and group exercises to explore the joy of improvisation, be more confident, trusting and graceful on stage.
In level 2 you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner and reinforce saying “Yes, and…!” Until you have to say “no thank you”.
Fight off loneliness, find a community while, dipping your toe into the joyous pool of improvisation--0% fear, 100% fun
In this class you will use scene work and group exercises to explore the joy of improvisation, be more confident, trusting and graceful on stage.
Over six sessions you will learn singprov basics in both short form, structured games and scenes into song.
In this class, we will explore character objectives, fears and desires, emotional commitment, and much more. Think of this as an acting class you don’t have to prep a monologue or scene for.
In this class you will use scene work and group exercises to explore the joy of improvisation, be more confident, trusting and graceful on stage.

This is the perfect place for absolute beginners to get acquainted with the art of long-form improvisation or those who want to tap back into why they first started doing Improv somewhere else.
In Grounded to Goofy, we will explore ways to perfectly meld improv that has heart and humor. By delving into real life events and situations, you will learn to heighten with hilarity!
In this class you will use scene work and group exercises to explore the joy of improvisation, be more confident, trusting and graceful on stage.
In level 2 you will continue to focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting your scene partner and reinforce saying “Yes, and…!” Until you have to say “no thank you”.
This level is about highlighting the importance of the ensemble. Long form improv is best when an ensemble truly works and flows together, otherwise known as “group mind.”

This is the perfect place for absolute beginners to get acquainted with the art of long-form improvisation or those who want to tap back into why they first started doing Improv somewhere else.

In Sketch Writing Level 2: Building Your Packet, students will utilize the skills developed in "Sketch Writing Level 1" to write sketches in a series of classic formats.
The Basics of Sketch, students will develop the fundamental skills they need to start writing original comedy sketches.

In this characters class, you'll explore writing and creating characters for comedic performances.
The Basics of Sketch, students will develop the fundamental skills they need to start writing original comedy sketches.
In Sketch Writing Level 2: Building Your Packet, students will utilize the skills developed in "Sketch Writing Level 1" to write sketches in a series of classic formats.

No pressure stand up. Dip your toe into the joyous pool of stand up- 0% fear, 100% fun. This is the perfect place for absolute beginners to get acquainted with the art of stand up comedy, as well as experts to hop in and get your reps in. It’s the perfect spoonful of stand up, come have a taste! Please note that there is no graduation show for this class.
